This Rolex Everose Gold Day-Date 40, reference 228235, is a member of the Day-Date family. The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. It has a 40mm case in 18k Everose gold. Everose is Rolex's own pink gold alloy, made in its foundry so the colour does not fade over time.
Its olive green bevelled Roman dial uses Roman numerals. Around the dial sits a fluted 18k Everose gold bezel. It is worn on the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
Inside is the Rolex manufacture caliber 3255, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of about 70 hours. Every movement of this generation is tested as a Superlative Chronometer, accurate to within −2/+2 seconds a day. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
