The Rolex Yellow Gold Day-Date 40 (Ref. 228348RBR) is part of the Day-Date line. The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. This reference has a 40mm case in 18k yellow gold. The gold is cast in Rolex's own foundry, which controls its colour and quality.
The black index dial uses applied index hour markers. The dial is surrounded by a bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The case is paired with the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
