The Rolex Yellow Gold Day-Date 36 carries reference 118238. The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. Its 36mm case is crafted in 18k yellow gold. Rolex casts its own 18k gold in-house, so the colour stays consistent from case to bracelet.
On the front, the white Roman dial uses Roman numerals. Around the dial sits a fluted 18k yellow gold bezel. The watch is fitted with the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
Inside is the Rolex manufacture caliber 3155, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of about 48 hours. It is an officially certified chronometer, tested by COSC for accuracy. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
