This Rolex White Gold Day-Date 36, reference 118239, is a member of the Day-Date family. The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. It has a 36mm case in 18k white gold. 18k white gold looks like steel at first glance but is noticeably heavier on the wrist.
On the front, the meteorite diamond dial is cut from a real iron meteorite, so no two dials look the same, and has diamond hour markers. The dial is surrounded by a fluted 18k white gold bezel. The case is paired with the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
The movement is the in-house Rolex caliber 3155, which runs for about 48 hours once fully wound. It is an officially certified chronometer, tested by COSC for accuracy. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
