Reference 116509 is the Rolex White Gold Daytona 40. The Daytona has been Rolex's racing chronograph since 1963, built to time laps and measure average speed with its tachymetric scale. The 40mm case is made of 18k white gold. White gold gives the watch a quiet, steel-like look with the weight of precious metal.
Its meteorite and black index dial is cut from a real iron meteorite, so no two dials look the same, and uses applied index hour markers. It is framed by a white gold bezel engraved with a tachymetric scale. The watch is fitted with the three-piece-link Oyster bracelet.
Inside is the Rolex manufacture caliber 4130, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of about 72 hours. It is an officially certified chronometer, tested by COSC for accuracy. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
