Reference 279173 is the Rolex Steel and Yellow Gold Lady-Datejust 28. The Lady-Datejust is the classic ladies' Datejust, with the date at 3 o'clock magnified under the Cyclops lens. The 28mm case is made of Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold. This steel-and-gold combination is what Rolex calls Rolesor, a signature of the brand since 1933.
Its lavender diamond dial has diamond hour markers. Around the dial sits a fluted 18k yellow gold bezel. The watch is fitted with the five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet.
The movement is the in-house Rolex caliber 2236, which runs for about 55 hours once fully wound. Every movement of this generation is tested as a Superlative Chronometer, accurate to within −2/+2 seconds a day. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
