The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. The 36mm case is made of 18k Everose gold. Everose is Rolex's own pink gold alloy, made in its foundry so the colour does not fade over time.
