The Rolex Everose Gold Datejust 31 (Ref. 278245) is part of the Datejust line. The Datejust introduced the self-winding wristwatch with a date window in 1945, and the date sits under the Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. This reference has a 31mm case in 18k Everose gold. Everose is Rolex's own pink gold alloy, made in its foundry so the colour does not fade over time.
On the front, the aubergine diamond six dial has diamond hour markers. The dial is surrounded by a polished domed bezel. It is worn on the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
The movement is the in-house Rolex caliber 2236, which runs for about 55 hours once fully wound. Every movement of this generation is tested as a Superlative Chronometer, accurate to within −2/+2 seconds a day. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
