The Rolex Yellow Gold Daytona 40 (Ref. 126538TBR) is part of the Cosmograph Daytona line. The Daytona has been Rolex's racing chronograph since 1963, built to time laps and measure average speed with its tachymetric scale. This reference has a 40mm case in 18k yellow gold. Rolex casts its own 18k gold in-house, so the colour stays consistent from case to bracelet.
On the front, the diamond dial has diamond hour markers. The dial is surrounded by a bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds and diamond-set lugs. The watch is fitted with the black Oysterflex bracelet, made of flexible metal blades coated in high-performance elastomer.
The movement is the in-house Rolex caliber 4131, which runs for about 72 hours once fully wound. Every movement of this generation is tested as a Superlative Chronometer, accurate to within −2/+2 seconds a day. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
