The Rolex Platinum Day-Date 40 (Ref. 228396TBR) is part of the Day-Date line. The Day-Date was launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, and it is made only in gold and platinum. This reference has a 40mm case in 950 platinum. 950 platinum is heavier and rarer than gold, which is why Rolex uses it only for its top models.
The white bevelled Roman dial uses Roman numerals. The dial is surrounded by a bezel set with baguette-cut diamonds. The watch is fitted with the President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.
